Capital Football would like to congratulate all players selected to represent their age group at the upcoming National Age Group Tournament.
18 players have been selected in each of the five teams (16^th grade boys, 16^th grade girls, 15^th grade girls, 14^th grade girls and 14^th grade boys) to take on the rest of the country in the five-day tournament held here in wellington.

A highlight of the year for youth footballers all over the country, the seven federations are all represented, bringing a total close to 500 players to the pitches here at Memorial Park, Petone, and Fraser Park, Lower Hutt. Capital Football Federation Development Assistant Manager, Natalie Lawrence is extremely excited by the young group of players selected for the tournament.

“It was extremely difficult to select teams this year due to the amount of quality young players being developed.”

“We are definitely looking forward to the campaign and having the opportunity to develop players in that tournament mode and give them the opportunity to play top quality football against top sides across the country. We also know that the group of coaches taking the reins this year come with a lot of different experiences and knowledge of the game so that is also fantastic for the players involved.  It’s an exciting time and the experience gained form these tournaments will be valuable experiences for everyone involved.”

The Capital Football teams will take part in training camps in preparation for the tournament, giving the players and coaches the opportunity to come together and develop their game plans and technical abilities.
