WOMEN'S FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT EVENT

Do you want to help develop women’s football in your club, school or community? Do you want to empower, support and encourage girls and women to get into football?

Over the next couple of months each Federation is hosting a Women’s Football Development Event which will help you do just that. Capital Football’s event is taking place on Monday 2nd July at Capital Football’s Home of Football in Petone.

We strongly recommend all Girls & Women’s Coordinators attend the event, and welcome any other club members, including Directors of Football, Club Captains and Junior/Senior Coordinators to participate.

Participants at each event will benefit from networking with like-minded individuals, gain an insight into best practice for the running of women’s football and generate ideas which they will then be able to take back to their clubs, schools or communities to implement.

New Zealand Football Women’s Development Manager Holly Nixon will be hosting the event alongside Capital Football’s Women’s Development Officer, Emma Evans. Nixon believes the events are a great opportunity for those passionate about women’s football to come together in a fun and friendly environment to discuss the betterment of the game.

A key strategic outcome for women’s football in New Zealand involves the 7 Federation’s Women’s Football Development Managers working with clubs to develop and enable women’s football. This includes the development of club-based women’s football coordinators and providing them with support, a sense of belonging and a feeling that they are part of the bigger picture.

We all have a common goal of wanting to improve girls and women’s football and it is key that we all buy the same vision in order to achieve this goal together.
