WOMEN IN FOOTBALL | LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
βββββββLegacy Programme
The Programme
In partnership with New Zealand Football, the Women in Football - Leadership Programme has been designed for women currently involved in our game, who are our current and emerging sector leaders.
In line with the Women's World Cup 2023, this programme has been rolled out nationwide to help to further grow and sustain our beautiful game of football for the future.
The programme aligns with Capital Football's Strategic Plan, where we recognise that "The game and all of the wonderful things it offers our community are enabled by coaches, volunteers and referees." It has been structured to strengthen capability and leadership across women involved in football. The programme looks at how to close the βconfidence gapβ and challenge the biases that might be holding applicants back from pursuing their careers further. It is designed to create a leadership community of women who want to both increase their personal and organisational impact, but also arm them with the tools to help them grow off the field as well.
By committing to this programme and being open to developing themselves, pushing out of their comfort zones and building confidence, candidates will amplify their leadership and increase their impact and influence.
The Women in Leadership Programme aims to connect candidates closer to their clubs/schools as well, with the club/school joining us on the journey and helping support the candidates through the programme. The programme encourages candidates to take the lead on a 'project'. Candidates will be provided with opportunties to share their journeys with their fellow Women in Leadership Candidates as well as their clubs/schools.
Candidates
This programme is targeted towards women in the wider Wellington Region currently involved on club committees or administration teams, or emerging leaders who will lead our game in the future. We would encourage every club in the Capital Football region to nominate at least one representative forward. Previous graduates are also encouraged to nominate candidates. Candidates are expected to attend the Women in Leadership Programme in full and clubs are expected to provide support as appropriate.
